When the kids are away, Bubbe will play. When looking through the cabinets to make my frozen childhood favorite, freezies, I came across my granddaughters' frozen ring mold. The idea of ring shots immediately came to me. While the freezies are the size and strength of a full beverage, these little ring shots are reminiscent of Jello shots, only frozen. Of course, you don't need a ring mold to make frozen shots. Little paper cups work just fine, too. And feel free to substitute your favorite alcohol and fruit juice flavors. I would love to hear of any fun combinations you come up with. Cheers!

Bubbe's Ring Shots 1/4 cup key lime pie flavored vodka Juice of 1 orange 1/8 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon maraschino cherry juice, if desired

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Pour into mold and freeze until firm. Eat immediately. Because alcohol doesn't freeze solid, the pops can be difficult to unmold. If this happens, run under warm water for a few seconds and eat immediately.

Makes 6 ring shots
